VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP: Mixed Media Projects for Families with The Center for Excellence in STEM Education
July 30 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
An event every day that begins at 9:00 am, repeating until July 30, 2020
Grades: 1 – 8
Dates: July 27 – 30 | 9AM – 10AM
Instructor: Ashley O’Neil, CMU Staff
Materials Needed: Device with Internet access; Mixed Media Kit (available for curbside pick-up at the Education and Human Services Building for all participants. Shipping materials may also be requested – see above for details and potential costs.)
Students aren’t the only ones invited to make! In this program, families are encouraged to collaborate as they create. Throughout the week, the instructor will share various prompts that include a collection of different materials intended to expose students to different sizes, shapes, and textures. Leading up to this experience, it may be helpful for families to save a few items such as net produce bags, old socks, and other items with unique textures. In addition to these process-oriented activities, this program aims to provide children experiences that allow for parents and siblings to engage them in conversation and inquiry.
