FREE – Wildlife Drive Open @ Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, Saginaw
August 16, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 8:00 am, repeating until September 30, 2020
The Drive now opens daily (since May 1st) through September 30th, 2020 and is free of charge.
This amazing stretch of land is 6.5 miles and takes visitors through the most vital areas of the Refuge. Visitors can expect to see the newly restored Maankiki Marsh, which was converted from 1000 acres of farmland. Views of Maankiki Marsh from the Wildlife Drive showcases an abundance of wildlife including bald eagles, cormorants, terns, ducks, geese, egrets, swans, sandhill cranes, song birds and, as of last year, a large number of American white pelicans. You may also see muskrats, deer and turtles as some of the more common wildlife.
The Wildlife Drive opens daily from Sunrise to 1 hour before Sunset.
