Davenport University and Wyoming VA partner to enhance veterans care
Davenport University and the Wyoming VA Health Care Center are partnering on a nursing initiative to enhance health care delivery for veterans.
Davenport received a four-year, $2.4 million grant from the Health Resources & Services Administration to recruit and train nursing students and current registered nurses to strengthen the workforce of primary care registered nurses.
Officials say the Wyoming VA serves almost 23,000 patients per year and has seen growth of about 2,000 patients over the last two years. The facility provides over 167,000 outpatient visits but grew about 7,000 visits just in the past two years.
